PFWA 2019 All-NFL, All-AFC and All-NFC teams announced

The Baltimore Ravens and New Orleans Saints placed a league-high four players on the 2019 All-NFL team, chosen in voting conducted by the Professional Football Writers of America (PFWA).

The Ravens placed quarterback Lamar Jackson, guard Marshal Yanda, offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley and placekicker Justin Tucker on the All-NFL team. The Saints placed wide receiver Michael Thomas, offensive tackle Ryan Ramczyk, defensive end Cameron Jordan and punt returner Deonte Harris on the squad.

The Pittsburgh Steelers had three All-NFL selections as defensive tackle Cameron Heyward, outside linebacker T.J. Watt and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick were voted to the defensive team.

The New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans each had two players on the All-NFL team. In all, 17 clubs are represented among the 27 players honored by the PFWA.

A total of nine players were repeat selections from the PFWA’s 2018 All-NFL team. Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, New England cornerback Stephon Gilmore, Minnesota defensive end Danielle Hunter, Atlanta wide receiver Julio Jones, Kansas City center Jason Kelce, Indianapolis guard Quenton Nelson, Seattle middle linebacker Bobby Wagner, Thomas and Tucker.

Donald was named All-NFL for a fifth-consecutive season, the longest current streak among active players. Wagner was named All-NFL for a fourth-straight season.

Donald (2015-19) and New England special teamer Matthew Slater (2011-12, 2014, 2016, 2019) was selected All-NFL for the fifth time, while Jones (2015-16, 2018-19), Chicago kickoff returner Cordarrelle Patterson (2013, 2015-16, 2019), Tucker (2013, 2016, 2018-19), Wagner (2016-19) and Yanda (2012, 2014-15, 2019) all became four-time All-NFL selections. Slater’s fifth All-NFL selection broke a tie with Steve Tasker for most PFWA All-NFL selections at the special teamer spot.

A total of 12 players were first-time All-NFL selections, including Harris, the lone rookie.

The All-NFL offense includes Jackson at quarterback, Tennessee’s Derrick Henry and Carolina’s Christian McCaffery at running back, Jones and Thomas at wide receiver, San Francisco’s George Kittle at tight end, Kelce at center, Nelson and Yanda at guard and Ramczyk and Stanley at tackle.

The All-NFL defense includes Hunter and Jordan at defensive end, Donald and Heyward at defensive tackle, Arizona’s Chandler Jones and Watt at outside linebacker, Wagner at middle linebacker, Gilmore and Buffalo’s Tre’Davious White at cornerback and the New York Jets’ Jamal Adams and Fitzpatrick at safety.

The All-NFL special teams include Tucker at placekicker, Tennessee’s Brett Kern at punter, Patterson as kickoff returner, Harris at punt returner and Slater as the special teamer.

The PFWA also announced the All-AFC and All-NFC teams. The Ravens led all AFC teams with five conference selections, while the Chiefs and Steelers each had four honorees. The Saints led all NFC clubs with seven conference selections each, while the Vikings had four NFC honorees.
