PFWA to announce 2023 Off-Field Awards May 15-19 and May 22-23

The Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA) will announce the 2023 Off-Field Award winners May 15-19 and May 22-23, 2023.

The announcements will be made at ProFootballWriters.org, through the PFWA’s official Twitter feed (@PFWAwriters) and via email to PFWA members and NFL league and club PR staffs each day at 1 pm ET.

Monday, May 15: George Halas Award (NFL player, coach or staff member who overcomes the most adversity to succeed)

Finalists: Saquon Barkley (New York Giants RB), Damar Hamlin (Buffalo Bills S), Christian McCaffrey (San Francisco 49ers/Carolina Panthers RB), Brian Robinson Jr. (Washington Commanders RB), Geno Smith (Seattle Seahawks QB)

Tuesday, May 16: Good Guy Award (NFL player for his qualities and professional style in helping pro football writers do their jobs)

Finalists: Brandon Graham (Philadelphia Eagles DE), Josh Jacobs (Las Vegas Raiders RB), Ted Karras (Cincinnati Bengals C), Jason Kelce (Philadelphia Eagles C), Terry McLaurin (Washington Commanders WR)

Wednesday, May 17: Bill Nunn Jr. Award (Reporter who has made a long and distinguished contribution to pro football through coverage)

Finalists: Mary Kay Cabot (Cleveland Plain Dealer), D. Orlando Ledbetter (Atlanta Journal-Constitution), Gary Myers (author), Jim Trotter (The Athletic), Barry Wilner (Associated Press)

Thursday, May 18: Horrigan Award (League, club or other official for his or her qualities and professional style in helping the pro football writers do their job)

Finalists: John Lynch (San Francisco 49ers GM), Brian McCarthy (NFL VP of communications), Ron Rivera (Washington Commanders head coach), Les Snead (Los Angeles Rams GM), Troy Vincent (NFL EVP of football operations)

Friday, May 19: Pete Rozelle Award (NFL club public relations staff that consistently strives for excellence in its dealings and relationships with the media)
